Terms of service

Updated 17 August 2026

These terms govern the use of this Viculus instance — production (viculus.fr) and local development (localhost). They do not replace a signed contract with a municipality.

Publisher

The publisher is Viculus, a French SASU. The product is a map of the territory for municipalities of fewer than 500 inhabitants.

The service

The public site presents the offer and collects sign-up or demo requests. It does not open the municipal application.

The private application (/app) shows municipalities, the map and data quality to signed-in users. Access may be limited to authorised Microsoft accounts or verified e-mail inboxes.

Audience and price

Viculus is aimed at French municipalities of fewer than 500 inhabitants. A request from a larger municipality may still be received; it does not create a right to a contract.

The published price (one euro excluding tax per inhabitant per year) is commercial information. It becomes binding only in a written contract and an administrative mandate.

Acceptable use

Use the public form for a genuine municipal request. Do not probe, overload or circumvent the service.

Private-app users must be authorised by their municipality. You must not share a session.

Data and licences

Open data remains under its original licences (including Open Licence / ODbL). You must not strip source credits.

Municipal operational data stays with the municipality. Viculus does not reuse it for other purposes.

Availability

Local development has no service level. Production aims to stay available but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

We may change, suspend or stop a feature, including on a local instance.

Liability

The public site and a local instance are provided as is. Viculus is not liable for decisions taken from the map without a contract.

Once a municipality contract exists, liability follows that contract and applicable French law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Courts of France have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory rules that protect a public body.
